Thirunallar

Thirunallar is a small yet highly sacred town in the Karaikal district of Puducherry, renowned for the Dharbaranyeswarar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, where Shani Bhagavan (Lord Saturn) holds special significance. It is one of the rare temples in India where Shani is worshipped prominently, attracting devotees from across the country.

Pilgrims visit Thirunallar to perform rituals to reduce the effects of Shani Dosha, especially during Sade Sati. A holy dip in Nala Theertham is believed to cleanse past karma and bring relief. Nearby attractions include Karaikal Ammaiyar Temple, Kailasanathar Temple, Nithyakalyana Perumal Temple, Karaikal Beach, and the famous Mangani Festival, adding both spiritual and cultural value to the visit.
